Give a brief overview of the Cranes industry in India, latest trends and market dynamics.

 

Indian cranes industry did see a downward cliff due to the Covid-19, but the industry is coming back up to the speed it was earlier. The major difference notable is that the demand for machineries on rental has quadrupled. In fact this is great news for the industry as a whole because this will make sure sale of machineries and the rental companies will be able to thrive as well. These practices have been there in many developed countries and now even Indian Companies are following it.

 

What has been the impact of Covid-19 on your business and what are your strategies to overcome these sluggish market conditions and expand market share.

 

We being there in the market since a long-time were able to foresee that a tough time is coming up. The Industry was expected to turn towards the renting options for approximately one-year post lockdown. This anticipation made us start a new vertical to our current business in the name of Everest Rentals Private Limited. With all the world-class state of the art machineries that we were selling are now available on rental basis as well.

Indian industry is slowly moving towards the precast construction methodology which helps the companies to complete projects in shorter time frame. Since we are offering highly reliable & power saving machineries, we expect more orders from Indian Clients who started working on power saving point of view also. Our range of machines start from 8T and goes all the way up to 120T. Also, our Anti-Collision Systems for the Tower Cranes are an added safety to the machine which ensure complete safe environment for your machinery as well your personnel to work at the site. With the rise of precast buildings in the country, now we have incorporated Gantry Cranes as well into our Anti-Collision systems making them suitable for any operation, whether it be at the site or the casting yard, you can work safely.

We have successfully installed about 400 anti collision systems within a span of 5-6 years. We also continuously train our clients to upkeep the safety at their sites at all times.

Tell us about the indigenisation efforts undertaken by the company to meet the market requirements.

 

As I mentioned earlier that starting a new vertical, the Rental Company was one amongst our efforts to cater what the market requires. Our customers have been asking us that how can we make sure to get the safety levels as of your Anti-Collision System if our Tower Crane is a rented one? The incorporation of rental of Anti-Collision System for Tower Cranes is also a new way of answering the customers requirement. This helps the clients to make sure that in tough times like this, they wouldn’t have to invest in it.

 

To what extent are aftermarket services a strategic differentiator.

 

Since the construction Industry is totally mechanized, we are providing the quickest service on a pan India basis and keeping the No.1 stand in service. We have a team of 50 trained engineers and technicians to take care of timely service support.

 

Your strategy in this price sensitive market

 

Indian Market is now slowly moving from price sensitive to Reliability. Many of the customers have started calculating the power savings on each machinery and also calculate manpower losses & project delay losses due to machinery break downs. Customers now understand these losses are very huge compared to cheap machinery purchases.

 

Future outlook for the industry from a company perspective.

 

We are quite positive about the future of the industry and as well as our company. As a step towards supporting the nation and the industry to get back to the pre-covid strength we are proud to say that we did not let go any of our employees. We on the other hand increased our team of 45 to the current 50-member team. Just like the machines we offer, we support from within to thrive higher.
